At the conference, KTH presented a poster featuring the analysis of interviews conducted in five MULTI-FRAME case studies, which assess the potential of ocean multi-use. The event, attended by 500 people in person and around 400 online, brought together researchers, policy makers, and companies from the global seaweed industry. The 24th conference committee chose the theme "Seaweeds in a changing world," which focused on the ongoing changes in seaweed aquaculture practices, industrial processing, future products and markets, local and global environmental change, and scientific advances that will change our understanding of how seaweeds function at all levels of organization.

The MULTI-FRAME project aims to develop sustainable solutions for the co-use of oceans, including seaweed cultivation, offshore wind power, nature protection and tourism. With KTH's attendance at the International Seaweed Symposium 2023, the project has taken a significant step forward in achieving its goals.
