The first BalticRIM project online workshop took place on 8th of May 2020. Due to Corona, the planned workshop in Kotka, Finland, had to be cancelled and the main topics to be discussed were split into three webinars.
The first workshop discussed the possibility to use concepts like the BalticRIM Underwater Landscape or cultural significances in Maritime Cultural Heritage (MCH) management, in regular land-use planning, and in Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP). How to test and promote these concepts? How these concepts differ from each other and which might be most practical for the task to integrate MCH into maritime spatial planning? Preliminary results will be published soon on the BalticRIM website ( https://www.submariner-network.eu/balticrim). Furthermore, relevant aspects will flow into the final BalticRIM recommendations expected in September 2020.
The next workshop will thematise marine cultural heritage and how to link to blue economy, the third workshop will discuss in more detail and based on the preliminary results of the BalticRIM case studies and reports, how to integrate MCH into MSP in a practical way.
