Exemplary Practices in Marine Science Education is the premier book dedicated exclusively to marine science education and improving ocean literacy, aiming to showcase exemplary practices in marine science education and educational research in this field on a global scale. It informs, inspires, and provides an intellectual forum for practitioners and researchers in this particular context. Subject areas include sections on marine science education in formal, informal and community settings. This book will be useful to marine science education practitioners (e.g. formal and informal educators) and researchers (both education and science).

Students can take the course at their own pace, and earn exciting badges for every accomplishment they make throughout the course.

In this course, students can learn about how unexplored our oceans still are today. Understanding our ocean is essential to our future, yet ocean depths are still 95% unexplored. We know more about space than we do about the ocean. And there is a lot of ocean to explore, with incredible depths that are almost impossible to reach. Almost.

We know little about ocean life and processes. It is a big ocean with lots of room for everyone to make discoveries, including you.

Students can take the course at their own pace, and earn exciting badges for every accomplishment they make throughout the course.

In this course, students can learn about how humans influence the ocean and vice versa. The ocean provides us with basics, like oxygen and fresh water, and the ocean feeds us. Even if we do not eat seafood, fishmeal is used to feed poultry and pork as well as to organically fertilize crops for millennia.

The ocean allows humans to trade, and gives many of us jobs in fisheries, trade, shipping, tourism and travel.
