Seaweeds are a worldwide incredibly rich source of nutrients and bioactives. At the “Seaweed for Health” conference we will present an interdiciplinary approach to discuss the health promoting properties of seaweed compounds and we will learn on the novel developments for functional ingredients that can be used for the formulation of food, feed, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals and pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, toxicological aspects and regulatory issues will be discussed, as well as some barriers for the industrial exploitation and commercialization.

In order to favor exchange between academia and industry, a small local industry exhibition will be held during the conference.

The conference will include a cooking show, seaweed collection and a one-day tour to Zanzibar.
