Open Calls for access to research infrastructure

The EU Research Infrastructure project AQUACOSM has opened the 3rd CALL for Transnational Access to fund participation or leadership of mesocosm experiments in 2020. We open for access to more than 33 aquatic mesocosm facilities, located at 15 AQUACOSM partners throughout Europe. In total AQUACOSM offers more than 11500 person-days of TA between Jan 2018 and Oct 2020. The mesocosm lab of SYKE (Finnish Environment Institute) is also included. The Call is open until 12 November. More information.

In addition to the lab facilities, there is also the Eurofleets+ providing access to many research vessels including SYKE's R/V Aranda. Eurofleets+ also opened four Calls for which European and international researchers from academia and industry may apply. EUROFLEETS+ particularly invites scientists from nations with limited, or no, access to research vessels and other marine infrastructure. Researchers from all career stages and female researchers are encouraged to apply. Access will be granted based on scientific excellence covering all fields of marine science, giving priority to research on sustainable, clean and healthy oceans, linking with existing ocean observation infrastructures, and innovation through working closely with industry will be supported.

  • 1 & 2) The Ship-time and marine Equipment Application (SEA-Programme) calls to access research vessels and marine equipment, the first call with mainly larger, “ocean going” vessels (OCEANSAPPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED) and the second call with more REGIONAL vessels (will open 25 November 2019). Research vessels and marine equipment not offered or requested in the first call (“OCEANS“), or with spare capacities will be offered in the second, “REGIONAL“ call. Both calls will be open for three months, respectively.
  • 3) The Co-PI Call, which is anticipated for November 2019. This running call will be open continuously until beginning of 2022.
  • 4) The RTA Call, which is anticipated for November 2019. This running call will be open continuously until beginning of 2022.
