The program includes three days of practical exercises and lectures. The detailed program will be provided to registered participants in due time.
The practical exercises will be focused on quantifying the mass balances of carbon and nitrogen in a system where three different strains of Ulva are grown in nutrient-rich process water from a local land-based Recirculated Aquaculture System (RAS). Methods will include PAM fluorometry, photosynthesis by oxygen production, production of Particulate, dissolved, and volatile organic carbon (DOC, DIC, and VOC), and N concentrations in water and seaweed. The methods will be discussed and evaluated, and the data outcome used in joint peer-reviewed publication.
The deadline for application is Monday, February 18th, 2024.
