RootLinks

Primary Sector Deployment Group Support Project

ABOUT THE PROJECT

RootLinks is an EU-funded project that empowers Primary Producers in agriculture, forestry, and the blue economy by connecting and integrating them across Europe. Its mission is to strengthen their key role in circular, bio-based value chains, ensuring they actively contribute to Europe’s green and digital transition.

Funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), RootLinks equips Primary Producers with tools and opportunities to build awareness, strengthen cooperation, and develop capacity. Through tailored activities, the project supports networking, knowledge exchange, and business model innovation, helping producers access and benefit from circular bio-based opportunities.

At the core of the project is the Working Group on Primary Producers established under the CBE JU. This group brings together representatives from agriculture, forestry, and the blue economy to co-create an Action Plan that reflects producers’ priorities and needs.

RootLinks will also identify cross-sector synergies and collaboration pathways, integrating Primary Producers more closely into innovation ecosystems. By fostering dialogue, supporting new business models, and connecting local actors with EU-level initiatives, the project aims to generate economic, social, and environmental benefits that strengthen Europe’s circular bioeconomy.
