The upcoming Ocean Multi-Use Commercialisation Roadmap created by the UNITED project was honoured by the Horizon Innovation Radar as a key innovator due to its contibutions to the UN’s Sustainable Goals 2 End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture, 7 Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all, 12 Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns, and 14 Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
The Ocean Multi-Use Commercialisation Roadmap provides a range of key recommendations derived from the UNITED pilot projects and showcases practical examples that can guide future multi-use initiatives. It serves as a valuable resource to support the future adoption and expansion of multi-use, not only in the pilot locations but also beyond. The Roadmap is beneficial for innovators, industry stakeholders, and policymakers, as it offers insights into the facilitators for scaling up and broader adoption.
