SEADEEP helps aquaculture and fisheries cut energy use and emissions, testing digital and energy-efficient solutions at nine sites across the North Sea and Baltic Sea.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Sustainable Energy Advancement through Digitalisation for Energy Efficient Production in Aquaculture and Fisheries
High energy use and slow uptake of digital tools are holding back Europe’s aquaculture and fisheries. SEADEEP brings together 30 partners from 11 countries to test 16 digital and energy-efficient solutions at nine demonstration sites in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, covering seaweed farming, recirculating aquaculture systems and small-scale fishing fleets. The project is coordinated by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, and SUBMARINER leads communication, dissemination and capacity building.
